Sleeper Cell played for us in Ipswich at The Drum and Monkey on 29th June 2008 A brilliant local band that brought their support with them and blew us away with their humour and their music. True performers that had us laughing one moment and banging our heads and stamping our feet the next. A smooth line of dry humour from the lead singer as well as belting out harmonies had us on our feet and our hands sore from clapping.
Shebangg!!
Shebangg have played twice for us: The Old Wharf, Digbeth on May 23rd 2009 The Town Mill, Mansfield on October 10th 2009
Chrissii and the guys have of course played for us before at our Birmingham gig
...coming all the way from Shropshire…complete with fans…to give an amazing
mixed set of covers and original numbers, the joplinesque vocals backed by
amazing instrumentation…that peaked when they shared the first public
performance of “Innocence Lost” a track written especially for RACPA that made
people think…and a few cry...and
just lik..and
just like the previous gig, at Mansfield the band held the small but amazingly
enthusiastic crowd captivated as a voice with the power of a hurricane came from
the slight form on stage...belting out brilliant vocals matched by the
instrumental skills of the guys behind her...and had even the other musicians in
the place stamping, whistling and calling for more!!
