Dakesis played for us at The Old Wharf, Digbeth on May 23rd 2009 The guys stepped in at the last minute when one of our bands had to drop out…and what a performance they gave us!! The guys…and ladies :)…had everyone’s attention as they worked the crowd in a way that many would envy…and their music was delivered with a passion and power that showed they LOVE what they do…and want people to love it as much! I spoke to them later in the day…and they told me they were a group of friends who love making music together….what an understatement THAT is….they are as polished and professional as any band I have ever seen…and if you want a band who will fill your venue with very pleased music fans…look up these guys ok!!
The Deadly Romantics
(www.myspace.com/deadlyromantics)
The Deadly Romantics played for us in Glasgow at The Capitol on 27th July 2008 Good old fashioned Rock music .. with a capital 'R'!! Looking big and every inch a hard man, the lead singer, Bruce, commanded the stage and hammered out lyrics that had us singing along. They had everyone moving as they played an excellent original set.
DeadPig
What an amazing way to begin the evening!! A brilliant acoustic set of covers and originals delivered in a very unique and attention grabbing manner that had me for one straining to catch every note! His wonderful telling of the story of his cabbage picking days, and Phil, a man beaten and broken by his circumstances , had us in turn laughing and then thinking deeply about how a man can be bought down, a masterpiece of lyrical work!! So go check them out folks, it really is worth the time looking them up.
Doncker
Doncker travelled all the way from Belgium to play for us in Nottingham at The Salutation Inn on 14th September 2008 This wonderful band, having played at Team Belgium’s gig on Friday, travelled over to the UK at their own expense, landing on Sunday morning at Dover to drive up to Nottingham to play our gig Sunday evening...and play it in spectacular fashion they most certainly did! Resplendent in black shirts with their trademark green ties, they gave us a set that was hinting at Kraftwerk, Manson and Disturbed, but none, or all, of the above! Truly professional, they had even the other bands making their arms ache and hands sore from applauding their set, delivered to a very appreciative and enthusiastic audience who, we hope , made all their effort to get to us worthwhile!
